XD Picture Card?
I have an Olympus digital camera. We bought it a few years ago. It uses a Olympus XD-Picture Card. I want to buy a new digital camera. The camera I saw is also Olympus. It uses the XD Picture card. However, this camera has video with audio recording, a feature I didn’t quite have on my current camera. Will videos work on the XD Picture Card? What’s the difference between an XD Picture Card and a SD card?

Yes, videos will work on an xD picture card. An xD picture card is just a way to store files, including video files.

xD and SD (secure digital) are both memory card formats, used to store digital files for things like cameras and MP3 players.

The difference: they are different sizes/shapes. A few cameras can take both xD and SD, but most of the time the cards won’t fit in cameras designed for one type of card.

xD was developed by Fujifilm and Olympus for their cameras; most new cameras take SD memory and Fujifilm has adapted all their cameras nowadays to take both xD and SD memory.

xD memory cards are used only buy Olympus and some Fujifilm compact digital cameras. Any feature that the camera has, is supported by the cameras memory card.

The difference between an xD and SD memory card has more to do with its shape, although some claim to support something called panoramic shots, but in my experience you can shot panorama’s on any camera by stitching two or more images together using a photo program.
