Action: Fast shutter speed of 1/250 f 5.6: Kids playing sports
Children : Outdoors, 1/125 f5.6 get their eyes and hands
Close-Up: Indoors by window 2-4:00. Get your girl friend and have her pose so only 3/4 of her face shows
Landscape: Outdoors 1/125=1/250 f8.0-11 sun behind you
Clouds: Outdoors 1/250 f8
Building/Structure:1/125 to 1/250 f 8 doors are very good subjects
Animal: Puppies indoors with flash 1/60 f 5.6
Informal: Friends hanging out4-5 people milling about.Check the film, it should have a ASA rating of 200. Set the dial to this ASA rating. Check the battery. Turn on the light meter, it should move the needle when you point it at a bright area. The shutter speed should always be over 1/60 unless you use a tripod.
Putting in the film: The film has a “leader” piece of film coming out of it. Put the film can in the camera and put the leading edge into the slot in the right hand side. Advance the lever a little bit so you can make sure that it is properly spooling. Better to lose a shot or two at the beginning of the roll than the whole roll. Close the cover. Take a roll of pictures immediately. Use alot of shutter speeds and aperture. Write down the conditions and subject for each shot. Take the film to a 1 hour developer and get it developed. This is an older camera and may not be functioning right. Better to learn about this before you do all of your work.
