What is the best entry level digital SLR camera?—Poppi

I am totally new to the SLR world and would like to buy a digital one and learn how to use it.
Is Canon 400D a good one? Or 30D? or 350D? I had a look at dpreview.com and got even more confused.
I don’t want to spend more than £500.

When you purchase a SLR, DSLR for digital, you have a to think about the whole system, which is camera, lenses, flashes and so on.
You mentioned about Canon, which is a top player in this market. The newest entry level camera is the 400D which has more mega-pixels and larger LCD screen from the previous model 350D. If price is key a 350D will do the job just fine otherwise the 400D is the way to go.
The 30D is towards a more experienced photographers.
