Index of Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T90 Reviews

  • Goodgearguide—We were pleasantly surprised by the image quality of the Sony DSC-T90 digital camera, with its thin body hiding a competent lens and sensor. It has a few novelty features, like a touch screen and high-definition movie recording, and the design makes it pleasant to use.
  • cameras.co.uk—There is a lot to like about the Sony Cybershot DSC T90. It looks great and is incredibly slim and streamlined. Picture quality is good and the touch controlled LCD screen may be the clincher for many people.

PhotographyBLOG—”The T90 feels fairly run of the mill as far as Sony’s Cyber-shot range goes, its designers seemingly reluctant to depart from the template laid down by previous successful incarnations. Add the fact it’s not actually that much of a bargain at £289 and you can get a larger touch screen on the identically priced T500 (though a couple of million pixels less), and do we have a compelling reason to purchase?”
CNET Australia—”If you must have a touchscreen camera, the T90 should definitely be on your shortlist. It delivers decent images for such a small shooter, and despite a few quirks with the screen itself, performs well in terms of intuitiveness and ease of use. Plus, for the style-conscious photographer out there, it’s a pretty sleek looking camera.”
TechRadar—”The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T90 is definitely one of the most innovative cameras on offer. If you can find it for less than the quoted price, then you’ll have found a true bargain.”
Pocket-lint—”Small enough to carry in a pocket at all times, the T90 suggests itself as the ideal purchase for the happy snapper wanting better quality results than a camera phone will presently provide. It looks good too, even though Sony’s designers seem to be resting on their laurels rather than attempting to enhance the range further and little has changed from previous incarnations. ”
PCmag—”All told, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T90 is a well-rounded choice. It’s a good performer in terms of image quality, speed, ease of use, and build—and its 16:9 LCD provides well-above-par experience in both shooting and playback modes. ”

The pictures from this camera are very clear, and the touch screen is a nice feature. The one thing I would recommend is that you buy memory, as the internal memory in the camera is extremely low.The high resolution of the pictures take up a lot of space. This camera is very tiny so I could see how some people complained about the touch screen but I have normal sized fingers and got the hang of it quickly. The camera is slightly larger than a Motorola razor, is very thin and ultra portable, but it seems that a drop could demolish it. But all things aside I am very pleased with it. if you are looking for something that can take abuse try the Olympus stylus tough 8000 I hear that it can take abuse like a UFC fighter. The Sony how ever has excellent picture quality, and is very easy to use and carry around. I gave it four stars because it does not seem like it could survive abuse, so I would not recommend this for a child. But if you would like a cool high resolution camera with a good lens and lots of little practical design features for under 300 dollars this is great.

Excellent pocket digital cam. As I have already used Sony T10, i know how to handle this series of digicams. Very slim and Fit perfectly in pocket like a cellphone. Image clarity is excellent. 4x zoom is enough for such slim cam. Zoom in video recording is excellent. Auto mode is excellent as it detects sunlight, dark, macro mode, faces, smile detection. Overall worth to buy.

    Cons:
    No digital zoom
Need to use stylus for touch screen otherwise if you use fingers, you can see fingerprints on the screen.
Don’t use MicroSD to Duo Pro converter, otherwise everytime you start ur cam, it shows info msg, ‘This memory card may not record..’

I’ve had this camera since Tuesday and it’s Friday and I’m still amazed. I’ve spent hours trying to learn my way around the menu, taking pictures, recording videos. I previously owned the Sony W150, but I upgraded for something much smaller. I’ve used the Panasonic Lumix and I’ve tried different Canon cameras, but the T90 takes the cake. This camera is sleek! The black casing is sexy :) . I’ve tried all the Rec modes, except landscape. I still need to try the 6 scene selection modes. Overall, The photos are beautiful. The intelligent scene recognition mode is truly amazing. I tried to simulate several scenes in my living room/ kitchen with the windows open or closed, lights on or off. The camera was able to clearly identify the scene, backlight, or even when I simply desired to take a macro shot of my fingers to see all the wrinkles(unbelievable what scene recognition does)! As of now, I am happy and I have no regrets with my purchase. The battery does not last as long as my Sony W150, but it’s good enough. I also picked up the Sony infolithium battery on here for like $38 (bought it through Amazon for peace of mind). I also purchased the 8gb MS Pro Duo Mark2 through Amazon for $44. Best Buy is selling the 8gb Mark 2 for $39.99 on sale right now until 5/2 (I wish I purchased it through BB, but it’s only five dollars so whatever). I also purchased my camera through Best Buy for $299.99 plus tax (If only I would have checked Amazon’s pricing before buying). Well despite all of that, the camera is absolutely wonderful. The honeymoon phase is going great and I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Hopefully, months from now I’m still happy with this camera.
