Are sigma lenses good quality?—chlojo

i just bought a canon EOS 3000 SLR and it has a sigma lens, i haven’t shot with it yet, but I was wondering if they are good quality. I also have a macro sigma lens that came with it. Should I upgrade lenses? I recetnly had a pentax k1000 with an orginal lens that i loved, are they similar at all?

Sigma produce reasonably priced lenses that are generally capable of producing good images.

However, they are not as good as the Pentax lens you were used to.

If I had money to spend on lenses I would not buy direct replacements for the Sigmas. Rather I would choose a different type of lens, IE wider angle, longer focal length telephoto etc.

The last lens I bought was a Sigma: 135- 400 mm zoom.
