Ricoh CX2 Ratings and Reviews
Ricohs original retracting lens system made it possible to fit the newly developed high magnification 10.7x optical wide-angle zoom lens into a 29.4 mm thin body that is both easy to carry and easy to operate. With 28 mm wide-angle to 300 mm telephoto coverage this zoom lens can handle a wide range of shooting situations including powerful telephoto shots as well as wide-angle shooting of both expansive landscapes and interior scenes with limited distance between camera and subject.
Index of Ricoh CX2 Expert Reviews
- GoodGearGuide—”For those of you looking for a compact camera with a big zoom that’s capable of producing vibrant images, the Ricoh CX2 is ideal. Its images are definitely sharp and their colours are accurate, and there are no problems with chromatic aberration. It’s also a fast camera, it has useful scene modes, it’s well built and it’s relatively simple to use. The only real drawback is the noise that’s present in photos.”
- Pocket-lint—”The CX2 is, well, just the like the CX1 – only more so. A relatively minor update might furrow some brows as to why the CX1 needed replacing so soon. The longer focal lengths are (arguably) more useful, but the flip side is problems with camera shake and low light. However, this is a highly specified, well-crafted camera with a host of very clever and new features that work.”
- ITReviews—”Unfortunately for those who’ve only just bought the CX1, Ricoh has now expanded the telephoto reach of the CX2, thrown in a few funky scene modes and improved AF capabilities. But, alas, there’s no improvement in video mode.”
- PCAdvisor—”Despite some issues with noise, the Ricoh CX2 is an admirable compact camera. It has a huge 300mm lens, captures vibrant and sharp images, has useful scene modes, and is reasonably priced. Put it on your shopping list if you want a point-and-shoot camera with a versatile lens.”
- CNET.uk—”The Ricoh CX2 is a very interesting camera. It’s responsive, well-made and combines a high continuous-shooting speed with an unusual degree of focus control. But, while the use of a 9.3-megapixel CMOS sensor is fine in itself, the image quality we got from our camera was disappointing.”
