Is Polaroid film backwards compatible?—mguardia…

I got P-500ir photo printer that takes Polaroid 500 instant film. Can you still buy Polaroid 500 instant film? Will Polaroid 600 film work?
(I already know that this thing is outdated and that I can buy a photo printer that uses ink. What I want to know is if I can still buy film for my P-500ir.)

1) Polaroid 600 film will not fit into your printer.

2) You want “Captiva” instant film. I don’t think Polaroid makes that any more. Pretty much, they only make 600 film and Spectra film.

3) You might find some old stocks of Captiva; search online. It might also be hanging on some department store shelves if they don’t check their stock too much. Online, try “Captiva” and “joycam” as well as Type 500 Polaroid film.

Good luck.
