Panasonic DMC-L10 Digital Cameras Plus Information
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10 is the newest member of its digital single-lens reflex (SLR) camera line and the company’s first SLR with Face Detection. The DMC-L10 also offers an advanced 2.5-inch Live View LCD which can rotate 270 degrees, enabling versatile shooting options and making it easy and convenient to shoot from high or low angles. Complete with a 10.1-megapixel Live MOS sensor, the DMC-L10 includes an advanced Supersonic Wave Filter system that prevents dust from collecting on the sensor and degrading photo quality.

The DMC-L10 is Panasonic’s first digital SLR with Face Detection, which will focus, set autoexposure, and detect up to 15 human faces simultaneously, capturing the subjects clearly and brightly. Combining Face Detection with Panasonic’s Intelligent ISO Control settings, which measures the movement of the subject and sets the ISO level accordingly, helps give consumers crisp, blur-free images.

Panasonic DMC-L10 Professional Reviews:

  • steves-digicams test the Panasonic DMC-L10 and gave out”Panasonic raised the bar for entry-level dSLR camera packages when they released the L10. The features that are included on this camera are not found on many other cameras in this class. The “Live View” mode with a 9 point AF system and face detection make this dSLR as easy to use as a simple digital point and shoot, meaning anyone in the family will be able to take this camera and capture excellent photographs. On the performance side, it has no problem competing with the other cameras in its class. The smaller imaging sensor is a concern as the camera does seem to have a little more noise in dark areas than some of the other 10- megapixel models. The addition of the Leica D Vario 14 - 50mm Lens with O.I.S. coming as the kit lens is another huge feature. This is the first and one of the only kit lenses to include O.I.S. and will help greatly to reduce camera shake and blur in low light situations. ”
  • Pocket-lint test the Panasonic DMC-L10 and gave out”The Panasonic Lumix DMC L10 is easy to use, provides plenty of shooting options and features and is worthy of close consideration for anyone trading up from a high spec
  • shutterbug reviewed the Panasonic DMC-L10 and gave out”Panasonic’s system is certainly convenient and the preview is accurate for exposure and white balance, but the compact Lumix digicams are still preferable. They provide a faster, more convenient, silent, and nearly continuous live preview display. Perhaps one day cameras that accept interchangeable lenses will no longer require a reflex mirror. Of course, that change will require entirely new technology, possible only with a very substantial, costly R&D effort. In the meantime, contrast-detect AF remains a valid addition to D-SLRs even if it remains a “nicety”: a feature that everyone expects, but does not use for every photo opportunity.”
