Style and elegance meets high-resolution performance in the Nikon CoolPix S700 12.1-Megapixel Digital Camera. Nikon’s VR Optical Image Stabilization system compensates for camera shake to produce clearer, sharper results in lower light or unsteady conditions. D-Lighting compensates for underexposed images or insufficient flash by automatically adding light and detail to selected shots where needed without affecting properly exposed areas.

The In-Camera Red-EyeFix feature automatically fixes most typical occurrences of red-eye. Face-Priority AF automatically finds and focuses on up to 12 faces to ensure superb portraits with clear, crisp focus. All functions are optimized for immediate response, freeing you to capture special moments as you experience them. Nikon Coolpix S700 Professional Reviews:
- imaging-resource reviewed the Nikon Coolpix S700 and gave out”The Nikon S700 captures great images under a variety of conditions, thanks to its range of preset Scene modes and useful tools such as D-Lighting and Distortion Control. Face-Priority AF technology helps get the best focus on portraits, even of large groups. The 12.1-megapixel CCD captures excellent resolution and detail in good light an at low ISO, and the 3x optical zoom lens is sharp and clear. High ISOs extend the camera’s low-light shooting capabilities, though strong image noise becomes a factor. Printed results show that ISO 800 is capable of getting a good 5×7. Higher ISOs aren’t a good idea unless you don’t mind a noisy 4×6, but that’s not a big surprise on a very high resolution pocket camera. The lower-than-average battery life will require purchase of an extra battery for long outings, unfortunately. Overall though, the Nikon Coolpix S700 won’t disappoint.”
- trustedreviews reviewed the Nikon Coolpix S700 and gave out”Although it is expensive, the Nikon Coolpix S700 offers excellent style and build quality, good performance, simple operation, effective low-light focusing and superior picture quality, with the advantage of optical image stabilisation. It shows that a 12MP ultra-compact can produce good image quality at fairly high ISO settings. However it still doesn’t offer any real advantage over less expensive eight or ten megapixel models.”
- digitalcamerareview reviewed the Nikon Coolpix S700 and gave out”While the Coolpix S700 is certainly not perfect, there’s a lot to like about this camera. Image sharpness and overall quality are truly impressive, the camera exposes and renders colors well, and ease of use is very good. Slowness in some areas proves to be a wart, but with locked focus the S700 is impressively fast as well. Perhaps most surprising, however, is just how well this 12-megapixel compact works in low-light situations. All of this comes together in a package that is stylish and functional, making the S700 one of the better small cameras currently on the market.”
