Nikon Coolpix S51c Professional Reviews:

  • dcresource Reviewed the Nikon Coolpix S51c and gave out”The Nikon Coolpix S51 is a fairly average ultra-compact camera that doesn’t particularly stand out in any one area. The biggest thing going for it is probably in the value department. For under $200, you get an 8 Megapixel camera, 3X zoom, image stabilization, and a huge LCD. Photo quality is decent, though there’s certainly room for improvement. My biggest issues with the S51 relate to performance: it’s sluggish in almost every area, and battery life is the worst in its class. I’m not a huge fan of its ergonomics, either. The Coolpix S51 is worth a look, but I’d recommend spending a little more on a better performing camera instead.”
  • cnet.co.uk Reviewed the Nikon Coolpix S51c and gave out”Although some aspects of the Nikon Coolpix S1c’s wireless features are well-executed, we hesitate to recommend it on this function alone as Wi-Fi in general doesn’t seem ready yet. As a camera, the S51c is unremarkable and lens problems make it hard to recommend over it similarly-specced snappers like the Canon Digital IXUS 75″
  • imaging-resource Reviewed the Nikon Coolpix S51c and gave out” the Nikon S51c has a VR lens, D-Lighting, and In-Camera Red-Eye Fix, all automatically activated by Face Priority autofocus in Portrait mode. The scroll wheel is a pleasure to use, as is Nikon’s menu system. The large LCD flatters your images (particularly macro shots) and ISO 1,600 performance is among the best I’ve seen. The Nikon S50c was a very disappointing revision of one of the most attractive digicam designs ever and the S51c only modestly improves upon it with a larger sensor and slight price decrease.”
  • DigitalCameraInfo Reviewed the Nikon Coolpix S51c and gave out”The S51c looks very neat,But its performance was a bust.It seems this release is incomplete;Future improvements are a must.Resolution is poor. The colors aren’t true.Starting up is a chore. The noise levels grew.Bad pics from this camera abound;Cheap components are partly to blame. The only good quality to be found Is the big LCD – what a shame! The $299 price is a temptation But the poor-quality images are more than a few.The slow Wi-Fi causes aggravation. In the end, the Coolpix S51c won’t please you. “
  • goodgearguide Reviewed the Nikon Coolpix S51c and gave out”Nikon’s CoolPix S51c offers a good option if you want to quickly and easily share photos with family and friends, however image quality aficionados maybe a little put off by the noise and slightly soft look of the shots.”
