Are Minolta SLR digitals compatible lenses with Minolta film cameras?
any idea where to get that adapter? I found that sony for $389 shipped. great deal for an SLR I think, even if the lens thing doesnt work out.

Ive got a zoom and macro for my old Minolta. I really just need the macro for tabletop detail shots, which I’d imagine 10.8 megapixels will give me.

When Minolta introduced the Maxxum 7000 auto-focus 35mm camera in 1985 they introduced the A-mount. This mount was used on the later Konica-Minolta D5 & D7 DSLR cameras and lives on today with the Sony Alpha series of DSLR cameras. So if you have several Maxxum AF lenses and want to use them just buy a Sony A200 DSLR.

There is an adapter to use the older Minolta MC/MD bayonet mount lenses on the Maxxum and now Sony cameras.
