IXUS -70 Display language? —Ray K

I was given a Canon IXUS-70 camera at my office in China for use there. It was purchased in China. The display language is all in Chinese characters…………….. I can’t read Chinese!

Can the display language be changed to English?

If so, please tell me how.

Slide the mode switch to the [>] playback position.
Hold down the FUNC/SET button while you press the MENU button.
Use the arrow buttons (on the rim of the round multiselector button) to navigate until you find “Engrish” and then press the FUNC/SET button to store the language.

If the buttons are labeled in Chinese…

The FUNC/SET button is the one in the center of the round multiselector button.
The MENU button is the smaller one below the multiselector button and to the right.

If that doesn’t work, try the menu system.

Press the MENU button.
Use the arrows to move to the set-up menu, which has an icon that looks like some tools - a wrench and a hammer - wise choice, Canon!
Scroll _UP_ 4 clicks.
This should be the language setting.
Scroll right or left until you find “Engrish.”
(See, it’s not a typo.)
Press FUNC/SET to save your selection.
Press MENU to turn off the menues.
