I have a 4 gb mp3 player that you can also down load pictures and movies. It says it can hold 1600 pictures. I don’t know if it would be the same.

It depends on the Resolution / Compression setting. Their website only shows up to a 256MB card. which is 154 at full resolution with superfine compression, and 548 at normal compression. So, if you multiply those numbers x 4 to get 1 GB and x 4 again to get 4 GB it would be roughly 2464, and 8768 respecfully. So roughly between almost 2500 to over 8000 pictures.

You will have to buy a memory card. Always shoot at your best quality your camera offers. Yours is an 8 megapixell camera. Shooting at 8 megapixels, a 1 GB card will give you about 256 shots, and a 2 GB card would double that.

Depending on the size of the picture. Theres should be a chart in the manual wtih resolutions and their corresponding size in mb. For example if a medium resolution picture is 2mb, and if you have a built in memory of 32mb, then devide 32 by 2 and you can take/save approx. 16 pictures.
