Casio Exilim EX-Z1200 OR Canon PowerShot G9…how to compare?— niklas_au

Hi..i own a casio Z 1200 - Now I have a chance to get a Canon G 9 in exchange.I ask myself: Is this G 9 much better? OK, it has 6 x optical instead of 3 x (casio)…

Most important for me is: Is the quality of the Canon G 9 pictures much better (i take landscape, people outside)?
Do i improve “my camerasituation”?

Or are these cameras nearly the same? Thanks a lot for help, i havn t idea how to compare.

From all I have read, I would go for the trade right off (if the G9 is still in prime condition). It is often rated, with the Ricoh GRD and GX100, at the very top of the P&S mountain. Apparently a lot of the pros carry them as an everyday P&S.The only thing that should probably keep you back is size. The G 9 is much bigger.

It is not a jeans or shirt pocket camera. If size is important than turn the trade down (or make the trade, sell the G 9, and go buy yourself another Casio, and keep the profit.)

Heh. The G9 is an awesome camera and will take much better pictures. The casio is like a toyota corolla, the G9 is like a Lexus IS 300
