Which camera is better overall the Canon PowerShot A720 IS or the Nikon coolpix S51?—Spiller8…

They are both about the same price and have almost the same features. I’m kind of leaning towards the canon because of brand name but am not sure. Ill be using the camera mainly for pics of friends and family for fun and maybe some video as well. Thnx to whoever helps me out!

If you are looking for brand name, BOTH Nikon and Canon are the brands the pros use.

If you are looking for a cool camera, then go to the store and hold both in your hands … see which one fits the best in your hands and which is easiest for you to navigate through their menus.

The Nikon is slimmer, so it will fit in your pocket or bag easier and it uses the state of the art Li-ion batteries which hold charges longer and last for years. For about $50 more you can get the S51c which has WiFi connectivity. The Nikon also has a stronger flash (higher guide number) and larger LCD. The 16:9 image ratio option is sort of cool … the “wide screen” look

The Canon has a longer reach optical zoom lens.
