It also lets you shoot at a fast 2.5 frames per second, but because it works so quickly, the processor uses less power, so the battery lasts longer. With Canon’s AiAF five point auto focus system, any subject in the foreground of the scene is accurately focused even if it is not in the center of the frame. If you want to focus on something further away, you can also override this feature. Canon PowerShot A70 Professional Reviews:

  • steves-digicams Reviewed the Canon PowerShot A70 and gave out”this is an excellent camera for those who just want to take good pictures without much fuss — but it’s also for those that want more than just a fully automatic point-n-shoot. Beginners can just turn it on, frame the shot, press the button and capture the shot. When you feel the urge just turn the Mode Dial and take as much control of the image capturing process as you want. Not bad at all for a compact, durable and fairly high performance camera capable of making photo-quality 8 x 10 inch prints (or larger) at this price point. If your budget is lower or you don’t have a need for 8 x 10 inch sized prints then look at the 2-megapixel Powershot A60 for about a hundred dollars less. The only difference between these two cameras is the image resolution and the price.”

Main Features:

  • * 3.2 megapixel sensor captures enough detail to create photo-quality 8 x 10 prints and medium-quality prints up to 11 x 14
  • * 3x optical zoom and 3.2x digital zoom (9.6x total)
  • * Up to 3 minutes of video with sound; manual, aperture and shutter priority exposure modes
  • * Compatible with CompactFlash Type I cards; 16 MB card included
  • * Powered by 4 AA batteries (alkalines included); connects to PCs and Macs via USB 1.1

Canon PowerShot A70 Customer Reviews

By Toni Bautista “Tonis” (Cicero, IL)
I’ve had this camera for 6 years and it still works perfectly! However, I gave it to a cousin of mine who is in grade school, because I wanted something with more pixels.

I bought this camera back in July of 2004 and i have been a happy user of this product for over two years. One of the things that i loved about canon powershot A70 is the battery life. I use 4 Monster NiMH rechargeable batteries on this camera and they work awesome, over 100+ pics. The picture quality is nice, and the camera is easy to use.
However now that 2007 is around the corner, I’m starting to think of upgrading, one thing that I don’t like about this camera is that it is pretty bulky when carrying it in your pocket. This camera is bigger than the newer cameras of its class, and at 3.2MP its starting to show its age.
Overall, nice camera.
