Help!!!with camera that dropped in water?—mustafa s

i found a camera in the river…lol and i have dried it wit hair dryer for….10min….then put new bateries in and only a light came on nothing else…its a samsung digimax A4…with SHD lens plz help plz i really need help

You’re probably out of luck, but you might try taking it in to a repair shop (who will tell you you’re out of luck…) The problem is that all the circuitry is likely to be shorted out, and the camera will now function remarkably well as a paperweight. But here’s a story, just ’cause you reminded me! This summer, I was on Crete, and had a small Panasonic point-and-shoot as my secondary camera. I was wading in a river, and somehow the camera worked its way out of my pocket and dropped into the water. Luckily, I had a rented scooter that I was traveling on for a few days, so I opened the battery and card compartments, strapped the camera to the front of the scooter, and drove in the sun and wind for a few hours. It dried all the interior components, and it’s worked perfectly ever since!
