Blurry photos on Canon PowerShot S2 IS
152 Views Category: Digital Camera Ask and AnswersBlurry photos on Canon PowerShot S2 IS? —magicald…
My Canon PS S2 used to give me great photos on the fully automatic mode. I have rarely changed any settings (occasionally using the Scene settings, like Indoors or Nighttime). However, recently when I take photos, only the center of the frame is in focus (the area where the green focus square is in the viewer), and the frame blurs outward. For example, if I take a photo of 3 people side by side, and focus on the center person, only that person will be in focus - the ones on the sides will be blurred. This occurs w/ and w/o flash - though worse w/o flash. I have cleaned the lens to no avail. Would appreciate any assistance.

Did you drop your camera? It sounds to me like the sensor is no longer flat to the focal plane. (out of parallel) Get this checked in a repair shop or ask their bench charge and consider whether you want to get the camera fixed or buy a new one.
