Nikon Coolpix S200 Customer Reviews

By Hiram Grant “just call me Sam”

The Coolpix S200 is a solid entry in the compact digital field. It’s sleek good looks and solid construction make it very appealing. However, it’s the first Coolpix to use the VR designation that uses “digital” VR instead of the proven and preferable lens shift and CCD shift VR.
On the positive side, it uses a reliable lithium-ion battery system, and Nikon is much more reasonable than many brands on accessories such as batteries. The SD card choice makes it a bit easier to find cards at reasonalbe prices and in remote locations than some of its competitors.A solid camera, but nothing you can’t get for less in other brands.

Nikon Coolpix S200
Nikon Coolpix S200 Technical Details:
* 7.1-megapixel CCD captures enough detail for for photo-quality 16 x 20-inch prints
* 3x optical zoom through a quality Zoom-Nikkor lens (zoom is equivalent to 38-114mm in a 35mm camera)
* 2.5-inch LCD display; exclusive Nikon In-Camera Red-Eye Fix
* Face-Priority AF automatically focuses on faces
* Sleek, all-metal design

By Tom “Tom” (California USA)

I bought one from Costco and already returned it after one week. 50% of the pictures taken outdoor were blurred, maybe from handshake. The VR is probably not effective per Hiram’s review. Otherwise, it is pretty nice and solid camera. The video quality is pretty good. Interface is good. I just found out another colleague had bought one too and he is complaining about the blurred image issue. I am now considering the Nikon S50.

Canon EOS-1D Mark III Review By KammaGamma

No Comments
By toggling between EOS 1D Mark III NR ON and Nikon D200 NR Normal, it is clear that Canon is leaving a bit more sharper grain in the mindtones. However, the Nikon seems to leave more grain in the shadows, where the Canon leaves a more smooth result.

Canon EOS 1D Mark III

KammaGamma Reviewed the Canon EOS-1D Mark III and gave out”Algorithms aside, it is really amazing to see how good the EOS 1D Mark III CMOS sensor is. The signal levels are way better than everything we have seen in the past. Canon’s ability to produce those good SNR levels from a CMOS sensor has come a very long way, and it is now way above the competition.Hopefully you are now able to better understand how complex noise reduction is and how really well it could work if properly engineered. You can only take advantage of those well engineered algorithms if you use the camera’s jpeg processed file. Naturally, shooting RAW and processing the image with RAW software, such as Adobe Camera Raw and Aperture, will not produce these results….”

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 Review By Pcmag

No Comments

Like the TZ3, the FZ8 has an Intelligent ISO mode, which detects moving subjects and automatically increases the ISO to decrease blur. This mode worked much better in bright light than in low-light situations, boosting the ISO to 1,250 for moving objects and dropping it down to 400 for stationary ones.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 was Reviewed by Pcmag and gave out “
Although the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 offers a powerful 12X optical zoom lens, manual modes, and a wealth of helpful features, its lack of a true wide-angle view prevents it from stripping the older Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ3 of its Editors’ Choice crown.”

Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS70 Review By Digitalcamerainfo

No Comments

The LS70 includes manual control over image settings like exposure compensation, white balance, a handful of shutter speed settings in Starry Sky mode, and ISO.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS70
digitalcamerainfo review the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS70 and gave out” With a budget-friendly $149 price tag, clean layout, and inclusion of custom image shooting modes and a Movie mode, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS70 appeals to the consumer who wants picture-taking made easy. Panasonic falls short of the mark for the manual control enthusiast; the LS70 only offers control over white balance, exposure compensation, and ISO. Other drawbacks include a lack of audio recording in Movie mode and a sluggish relationship between the lens and the zoom ring. But even with these shortcomings, features such as optical image stabilization are definitely not a common feature found on cameras in this price range, and their inclusion at this price gives the DMC-LS70 an advantage over competing manufacturers.”

Olympus SP-550 UZ Review by ephotozine

No Comments

the SP-550UZ is up against other optical monsters like the Panasonic DMC-Z18 which also boasts 18x magnification
Olympus Stylus 550UZ
ephotozine Reviewed the Olympus SP-550 UZ and gave out “The previous UltraZoom from Olympus was something of a triumph of marketing over functionality. The image quality at the end of the zoom was dreadful. So it’s nice to see that it’s actually a lot better here. It isn’t super sharp, but it’s acceptable and means that you can zoom in from very far away to reveal small details or capture people surreptitiously. There’s optical stabilisation, but it’s not a panacea for your camera shake woes. You’ll still need to keep it very still when shooting, and here, the 1/1000sec shutter speed in AP or SP modes does not help the cause. “

Canon EOS-1D Mark III Review by the-digital-picture

No Comments

The 1D Mark III does not have the 16.6mp resolution full frame sensor of the Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II. Otherwise, the 1D III is better in practically all regards.

Canon EOS 1D Mark III

Canon EOS-1D Mark III was Previewed By the-digital-picture and said”
the Canon EOS 1D Mark III is a big hit. The 1D3, along with an impressive range of available lenses and accessories, is an especially appealing body for sports, photojournalism, wildlife, weddings and other low light photography. At this moment, my primary camera will remain the Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II only because of its higher resolution full frame sensor. But, I’m waiting anxiously for a Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III that incorporates the same improvements.
