Like all of Sony’s 2007 cameras, the Cyber-shot DSC-H9 has built-in memory instead of having a memory card included in the box — 31MB worth to be exact. That holds just ten photos at the highest quality setting, so you’ll want to buy a memory card right away.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H9 was Reviewed By dcresource and said”The DSC-H9, like other Sony cameras, retracts the lens soon after you enter playback mode. When you go back to shooting, your previous zoom position is lost, which was especially annoying when I was taking my test photos. The DSC-H9 doesn’t offer any image compression options, unlike the DSC-H5 and nearly all ultra zooms on the market. It doesn’t support the RAW image format, either. The included battery charger is unbelievably slow, and Sony wants nearly $60 for a faster one. And last, but certainly not least, a big thumbs down to Sony for only including the full camera manual on CD-ROM.

Fujifilm FinePix S700 Review By GoodGearGuide
Like so many cameras these days, Fuji built memory into the S700 instead of bundling a memory card. The S700 has 27MB of built-in memory, which holds just seven photos at the highest quality setting. That means that you’ll want to buy a memory card right away.

dcresource reviewed the Fujifilm FinePix S700 and they gave out “The FinePix S700 is the entry-level ultra zoom camera in Fuji’s lineup, and it has a lot to offer for its $230 street price. It has a solid design, good photo quality, full manual controls, and a nice movie mode. It’s not without its flaws though: the camera lacks image stabilization, has problems with purple fringing, corner softness, and redeye, and has a lens that’s slow at the wide-angle end. Still, if you’re looking for a budget ultra zoom camera, the FinePix S700 is well worth a look….

The camera can also shoot in either JPEG or RAW, which is slightly surprising for a compact. It’s also good to see the standard metering options of zone, centre-weighted and spot.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 was Reviewed by Ephotozine and gave out “
There’s one prime selling point of this camera and that’s the 12x optical zoom which reaches to an impressive 432mm equivalent with the wide aperture only shifting from f/2.8 to f/3.3 along the way. It’s a little sluggish to start, but rattles along fine when going and the camera features optical image stabilisation to help keep pictures sharp. That can help both at the wide angle end in low light, and at the telephoto end. The image quality is mediocre, you certainly won’t be printing anything larger than A4, but at least colour fringing is kept under control.”
